Entry Three

Entry Three: Eleanor & Park

I don't think that the author has a strict intent to "hook" the reader in any way, except for the way she set up the book. The author set up the book so it allows one of the chapters to be strictly about one character in the book and get a full insight into their thoughts. This is what kept me hooked on reading this book because I found it very interesting. I have never read a book that has a layout like this, and since the author did this, I feel like I understand the characters much better than I would in any other ordinary book. Usually when I read books, I have a hard time connecting with the characters and understanding them, but not in this book. This book made me feel as if I actually knew the characters, almost as if they were friends of mine. This is probably one of my favorite books that I have ever read and it was due to the way that it was set up. It made me also, along with understanding the characters, understand the story line and setting of the story as well. It was a very interesting way that the author set up this whole book and I really enjoyed it.
