Post 2: What is a book?
A book is an escape. A book is a way for a person to escape the world and to put themselves in the shoes of other people. I think that both e-books and regular books can both be considered books because they both have a story to tell, so I would consider them to be books. I personally hate reading books though when they aren't on a mobile device though, for many reasons. One reason is that, if I ever get bored and I'm out in public, I could easily take out my phone and start reading if I felt the need to, but if I'm ever out in public and I really wanted to read for some reason, I couldn't with a normal book because no regular person just casually brings a book with them wherever they go. So that is very handy for me. But, for a counter claim, regular books are just as good and plus, they don't have a battery so they couldn't die out of nowhere. Whenever I am reading a book that isn't on a mobile device, I feel as if I get bored very easily. For example, in class right now, I am reading To Kill A Mockingbird, and whenever I read it from the book, I find myself reading it, but not being able to understand what I am exactly reading. But whenever it comes to reading off of a mobile device, I find myself understanding and enjoying this story better and actually finding myself somewhat enjoying this book. One thing that I really enjoy about having a kindle when I read, is that if I don't understand what something means, I can just highlight that word and it will give me a definition of that word, which I find to be very handy. I lean more towards the side of getting rid of books/bookstores because I enjoy e-books more, and if I had to guess, most of the highschoolers at this school do too.

I agree with you that a book is an escape of the real world. I also agree with the fact that e-books are easier to carry with you. When I am in public and I'm bored I find myself pulling out my phone to read something. And carrying a regular book would just be annoying, because who knows when you will get a chance to read. Or if that chance will even come up.
